While in London with HA affiliate Josh cole I had the pleasure of meeting Martin Serene.
Before you all do a who the hell is that? I’ll give you a couple of insights into why this is amongst one of my most interesting conversations I’ve ever had.
Martin was the tour manager for the ‘new York street party’ which was first ever tour of hip hop outside of New York in 1982. He bought futura, dondi, bambaattaa, rock steady crew and the double dutch girls to ‘the venue’ in Victoria London. Bare in mind this is the occasion when Futura did the first piece in the UK at trellick towers.

Not that that’s enough he also assistant directed the video for NWA’s ‘straight outta compton’ and most of Cypress hill’s videos…

So like I said mental conversation.
He’s gonna email me some pics so when I get ‘em you’ll get ‘em.

The original artwork for Battlestar galactica was drawn by Frank Frazetta and these appeared in a tv scheduling magazine back in 1978.
